From the Xia Dynasty to the beginning of the Han Dynasty, it was successively stationed in the grazing land of the Yi, Yue, Xiongnu and other ethnic groups. Since the Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, it was included in the territory of the Han Dynasty. After the Tang Dynasty, a multi-ethnic settlement with Tubo (now Tibetan) as the main ethnic group was gradually formed. Tianzhu County is in the central part of Gansu Province, in the south of Wuwei City, in the Hexi Corridor and the eastern end of Qilian. It is connected to Jingtai County in the east, Menyuan County, Huzhu County and Ledu County in Qinghai Province, Yongdeng County in the south, Liangzhou District and Gulang County in the north, and Sunan County in the northwest.
