It is a museum dedicated to commemorating the late Qing Dynasty Mawei Shipyard. Mawei Shipyard is the earliest shipyard in Qing and China. It was founded by Zuo Zongtang and Shen Yu. The earliest manufacture of wood-fired steamships resulted in the manufacture of iron-clad steel vessels. This is where China first produced planes, mainly seaplanes. The museum mainly introduces the history of the Mawei Shipyard in the late Qing Dynasty, and it is accompanied by some navy construction in the late Qing Dynasty. It is a very good patriotism education base.
The relief on the opposite side of the main building is very imposing
